At Kore Workshop, I take great pride in creating custom-painted models that meet and exceed your expectations. Here's how the process works, step-by-step:
1. Initial Consultation
If you are commissioning a model, I'll start by discussing your vision for the model. This includes:
Colour schemes, styles, and effects (e.g., battle damage, metallic finishes).
Any custom requests or special features you'd like such as limb extending, removing parts, adding parts.
Sharing reference images, videos or sketches to fine-tune the concept.
Once we agree on the details, I’ll provide a clear quote and timeline for the project.
2. Preparation
Before painting begins, I carefully prepare the Gundam model and plan ahead.
Scribing: This includes enhancing details that already exist or creating more panel lines for a better end result.
Assembly & Cleaning: Ensuring all parts are cleaned for better adhesion and ready for priming.
Surface Priming: Applying an initial mist layer of primer to create a smooth base for the full to adhere to better.
If a Gundam have any seam lines I will either modify parts to get rid of them using plastic cement or I will paint the inner frame and inside of the outer shell, close the seams after assembly , then mask and paint the outside.
3. Painting
Airbrushing: For smooth, even layers and precision detailing.
Hand-Painting: For intricate details, special effects, or a Warhammer-style look.
Weathering & Effects: Adding battle damage, shading, or other artistic touches.
4. Finishing Touches
Once the painting is complete, I’ll assess whether i think it would be nice to add more details. Things like wires poking through from the insides, dust and mud splatters riding up the feet, panel lining in multiple colours, bits of weathering and small decals to really give off a sense of scale and add an additional layer of detail. After, I will add a matte clear coat and gloss clear coat on appropriate parts of the models to ensure durability.
5. Final Approval
I’ll send you high-quality photos of the finished Gundam for your approval. If any adjustments are needed, I’ll make them before delivery at no extra cost, within reason.
6. Shipping/Delivery
Once approved, your Gundam will be packed in its original box with custom foam cut outs and even a base if you would like (will cost extra). It'll then be shipped to you. Every package is securely packed to ensure your model arrives in perfect condition.
